01 — LAD · LEGALLY AUTHENTICATED DATA

Legally Authenticated Data

Data has value. Legally authenticated data has title, provenance, and an unbroken chain of custody enforceable at law. The difference is everything.

HOW IT WORKS

01 — INVENTORY

We establish what you hold. Where it came from, the consent conditions under which it was collected, who has touched it, and what encumbrances travel with it. Smart legal contracts surface the value of each asset automatically and trigger at every licensing event, including when a licence expires. Most organisations are surprised by both the value and the exposure this reveals.

02 — AUTHENTICATION

Your data asset is authenticated, its title established, and its LAD Object created in Nooriam Core and given a public address on the Nooriam Registry. Legal identity, verified provenance, and chain of custody, cryptographically sealed. The record increases the value and reduces disputes before they arise.

03 — DEPLOYMENT

Your data is now an asset in the legal sense. Capable of being held, transferred, licensed, and enforced on your terms. Every subsequent transaction recorded, every licence tracked, provenance maintained at every step and across every hand it passes through.

THE PRACTICE

Most organisations hold data of significant commercial value but without the legal infrastructure to prove title, establish provenance, or enforce the conditions under which it was collected. Data is licensed constantly, but ninety-nine percent of data has never been properly surfaced, valued, or fairly traded. It sits unleveraged, underpriced, and legally unprotected.

The organisations that move first on this will hold something their competitors do not: data with legal weight behind it. Tradeable, enforceable, and attributable at every point in the chain. The asset was always there. Authentication is what makes it real.

"We always knew our data had value. What we haven’t been able to do was prove it, protect it, or transact on it with any legal certainty. LADs solve that. What we had was a data estate. What we have now is a clear line of sight to a data portfolio."

CASE STUDY

ANONYMISED · ENTERPRISE · 2026

A power company and a university know they hold valuable data. Neither can easily share it, price it, or protect it.

The power company holds decades of grid performance, energy output, and operational data. The university holds research datasets, sensor records, and modelling outputs across multiple faculties. Both have been analogue licensing data, and have no inventory of what they actually hold.

Nooriam is authenticating data estates, establishing legal title across assets, and deploying smart legal contracts that create an automatic value surface at every licensing event. When a licence expires, the value is recalculated, the terms are re-offered, and the record updates. For the first time both organisations can see what they own, what it is worth, and who is using it.
